3. Research field

Our division studies the neural and glial mechanisms of learning- and experience-dependent functional changes in cortical sensory areas. We are looking for a researcher who can actively promote research on plastic changes in neurons and glial cells in sensory-related areas regulated by sensory experience and sensory learning, and their contribution to learning, using imaging and other techniques in mice, especially using the cutting edge technology of optical systems such as holographic microscopy. We are looking for researchers who are interested in and motivated by the department’s research. Experience in imaging and electrophysiological
analysis is preferred but not limited to. If selected, the successful applicant will be expected to actively engage in collaborative research as an Inter-University Research Institution. You will also be responsible for graduate education as a faculty member of the Graduate University for Advanced Studies.

4. Qualifications

Applicants should have a doctoral degree or equivalent research achievement.

5. Period of appointment

Five years. Please note that reappointment is possible based on a performance review, but the total period of employment cannot exceed 10 years from the initial date of hire (in accordance with the institutional regulations). 6. Treatment

Salary will be determined based on the NINS’s payment standards, and according to career, ability, and other factors. Other conditions will be determined as stipulated by NINS.
