Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
The research areas include (1) neural mechanisms of pain and itch sensation, (2) pharmacological basis of therapeutics for analgesics and antipruritics, and (3) pharmacotherapy for opioid/substance abuse and dependence, in both rodents and monkeys.
The applicant will participate in ongoing nonhuman primate studies and s/he will have the opportunity to interact with renowned pharmacologists, neuroscientists, anesthesiologists, and molecular biologists in a vibrant multi-disciplinary research environment. Applicants (Ph.D. or M.D.) with experiences in animal surgical techniques and immunohistochemistry assays are preferred.
